My kids have so much fun “baking” me goodies that they prepare in their mud kitchen. Their favorites include fairy soup, “chocolate” mud muffins, and these pretty clay flower “cookies.” I love watching them at work and seeing their delight when they show me their creations.

It’s spring, the weather has been so nice lately and we’ve been spending a lot of time outside. Our yard isn’t huge but it’s just the right size for the kids to play in and for me to plant flowers and vegetables. We have an old crabapple tree in our yard and every spring it never disappoints. The blossoms are big and pink and beautiful. We love it it so much! But like all the other blossoms around our yard, they never last quite as long as I’d like them to. My daughter and I came up with this sweet craft to enjoy our crabapple blossoms even more. We used crabapple blossoms, but any kind of blossoms will do!

Mud-n-Moss Energy Balls are such a great springtime snack. They’ll give your kids a big boost of energy, but they’re also really fun to eat, because they look like muddy moss balls found on a rainy spring day.
I love making energy balls for my kids. They’re loaded with protein, taste delicious, they’re easy to make, and they travel well. Oh, and my kids will actually eat them, unlike so many other healthy things I make for them. There are so many variations you could try, but my kids love these particular protein balls because they look like mud and moss! Mmm…yummy. Ha ha!
