My kids absolutely love scavenger hunts. They request one for almost all of our walks and they are a great way to make a nature walk engaging for young children. I know firsthand the same scavenger hunt can get dull so I made eight different versions to keep things fresh. I hope you enjoy them as much as my family does.
I absolutely love nature walks and could wander in nature for hours just breathing and listening but my kids do not feel the same. I think most kids in this day and age get bored pretty quickly so I started bringing scavenger hunts along to keep them outdoors and engaged in our nature walks. They love scavenger hunts but get bored with them pretty easily if it’s the only thing I offer. I’m actually not opposed to boredom but I want them to enjoy our walks so I am always looking for a great way to keep them excited and engaged on a nature walk.

This dried apple garland was so easy to make and going to be one of my favorite fall traditions for years to come. It the perfect addiotional to a fall mantel or any other area. I love that I can compost the dry apples after I am done using it for the season. You only need an oven (or dehyrdator), lemon juice, string and apples to make this.

This Spider Pinecone Craft is such an easy halloween craft to create. It uses just 4 items and takes maybe 10 minutes per spider. I love that we were able to take a walk in our own backyard to hunt for our perfect pine cones and then make this adorable pinecone spider.
